Towson Town Center has undergone a renovation and expansion of such significance it has transformed a trusted, successful retail establishment into a style powerhouse in the Baltimore/ Washington D.C. market. The discriminating trade area consumer required a shopping experience which included upscale and unique retail as well as additional dining options. The new Towson Town Center has answered that demand.

The project started two and a half years ago with three main areas of concentration - renovation of the food court, reconstructing and remerchandising levels 1 and 2 of the existing center, and building an expansion wing and streetscape that included luxury retail and much needed dining options. The food court was fully renovated in summer 2007 with architectural elements portraying a more pleasing, open and contemporary image.

Levels 1 and 2 (of four total mall levels) were completed in summer 2008 with common area elements that aligned with the food court finishes. Newly installed skylights provide a brighter, more open space and the mall walkways have been widened and straightened for better navigation and sight lines. Levels 1 and 2 now feature a more edgy merchandise mix with new retailers such as abercrombie, Metropark, Buckle, Zumiez, Garage, Levi's, Fossil, G by GUESS and BEBE SPORT. Existing retailers, such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Delia's, and Arden B, relocated their stores to accommodate the new merchandising strategy, providing exciting, fashion-forward retailers to complete the picture of style and luxury already present on levels 3 and 4.

The construction in the expansion wing and streetscape was completed on October 23, 2008. The expansion wing has brought several upscale retailers, including Burberry, Pottery Barn, a two level Crate & Barrel complete with a full home store, and BCBGMAXAZRIA. Louis Vuitton and Lacoste will open in summer 2009 – both are new to the Baltimore market. The exterior facade represents a streetscape atmosphere including pedestrian access, patio dining, and a distinguishable tower marking the gateway to Towson. Two restaurants, The Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's China Bistro opened their doors in October 2008 and Stoney River Legendary Steaks is set to open in the spring of 2009.

Overall, remerchandising efforts have added 24 new retailers (including Bose, Martin + Osa, Sephora, Swarovski and Lush), relocated/renovated 17 existing retailers and added an additional 110,000 square feet. Before the end of 2008, Bare Escentuals, Lucky Brand and a 2 level XXI Forever will also open their doors. The entire look and feel of Towson Town Center has undergone significant changes and continues to evolve, creating a more appealing and functional environment for consumers.
